HELP !!! What do i buy YOU for Christmas

Christmas comes every year…we know this, every year on December 25th it is Christmas Day, so why do we panic ..or is it just me, i know some reading this will have started their shopping in September and will have bought and wrapped everything by October.

But to the rest of us, its November and December when we think about buying, buy and wrap. Then there is the dreaded ..what do we buy…

1. The person who has everything

2. That person who is particular and wont just want “any” old thing

3. Parents …

4. Our own children …

So we or i , make my list and start with my children.

they usually have written a list out and i know what they want, but i also like to get them a few surprises.

Then i start to think about family and  friends, yes there are the usual gifts, smellies, chocolates, smellies, chocolates lol

But seriously it gets harder every year.

This year i have made some goodies to take to i hope they like them.

I have tried to think about the gifts i have bought , and i know some people are better at this than me , my sister in law is fab…she always buys brilliant gifts..we got a T pot with ” more tea vicar” on the front , I got a mug wit “LOL ” on , so i thought i would try my best this year ,but i still have bought smellies …well when you don’t know what a person likes or needs ..i don’t think they come in wrong…i always use the smellies i get .

Christmas and the DIET

What is it about the holidays… and eating , or should I say overeating.

I was determined to lose a few pounds… so I could eat what I liked over the Christmas period and not worry about it.

But then you start to make all sorts of goodies , cakes, mince pies, sweets, puddings , and of course you have to try all of these goodies too.

The children love to help out when it comes to baking and licking out the bowl lol

So my determination to get rid of some unwanted pounds is not going to plan , never mind I still have 6 days to go .

If I can stay away from the wine and rubbish food lol …

we will see

Christmas Shopping

Today i finished my Christmas shopping.. I’m sure there will stuff i still need to get , and of course there is still the food shopping.  But for today i wandered around  back and forwards to the same shop….looking for that 1 gift, getting or trying to get an outfit sorted for my daughter  , she has a party to go to on sat. as well as her school party.

But i must say , i can recommend on line shopping, it takes all the hustle and bustle out of it. I was sat in bed recovering from flu…lap top and purse ,keeping me company 🙂

you shop they drop….them right at your door.

No que

No hassle

I will definitely shop on line again.

School Time

Well we enjoyed the last few weeks of the so called “summer” holidays , but the impending start date was looming, so into Doncaster we went to purchase school uniforms and , shoes, bags, water bottles and everything else we needed.

Easy peasy …all done and dusted.

And how smart did they look on their first day…VERY

Did the first day go well? NO

Well Dylan went off ok, his mate Phill came for him and off they sat, NOT that easy with Megan and Luke

WE had tears, tantrums and clinging on…mostly by me lol

It took Luke about a week and a half , Megan is just about settled . So as a treat we took them into town to treat them …

They all chose onsies !!! I want one another shopping trip is in order.

Bank Holiday weekend we decided to go camping , even though the forecast was for rain, rain and more rain. we were not put off by this , and off we set, we arrived at Blaithwaite camp site and we put up the tent, when i say we i mean Ian, Dylan and whoever else would help out 🙂

Well the tent was put up successfully,i sat in the caravan of a friend and awaited the arrival of their daughter , son in law and 2 children our friends from “The North” .
when Nick and Kathy arrived we decided to have a Chinese take away – in their caravan 🙂 mmmm was fantastic. A couple of glasses of wine and a chinese – camping at its finest.

Another couple of friends were also on way Bryan , Marie (Kathy’s sister and their daughter Anna ) It was going to be a fantastic weekend.

And it was , while we were there we decided to do a walk up Catbells

Of course the men had to plan the route , which they did , and the walk was fantastic , it started off dry but by the time we had finished , we were absolutely soaked , but it was all good fun .

When we got back to the camp site the sun came out and we decided to have a BBQ, but of course the children decided to play first….in the mud …it had rained a lot

We sat around drinking beer and wine and watched the kids get very very muddy , that was the fun part , taking them to the showers and getting them cleaned up was not, of course this was women’s work as the MEN had a BBQ to organise.

But the BBQ was fantastic , actually we had 2 , one for the kids then one for us adults a little later , yum yum yum .

But sadly all good things must come to an end and on the Bank Holiday Monday we decided to pack up and come home , as there had been a severe weather warning 😦 and pack up we did , it was sad saying goodbye to our friends, but it had been a cracking wkend, oh that reminds me we went home via the cheese shop in Wensleydale and bought some cracking cheese .

Help I’ve not blogged for ages

wehref=””> it started well, then the move caught up with me, so here i am back , and im now in sunny Doncaster. But the picture here is actually our last shot of lumley and the surrounding areas. 😦
We also had some goodbyes to say, lots of them, which all involved food.

The move actually went better than i thought , the removal men turned up on Thurs, and they were a very friendly bunch as long as i kept the coffee flowing 🙂

It was strange seeing my house being packed up around me, but nice not having to do it, if your moving and can afford it , let them pack!!! i just sat out in the garden, phone and book in hand, until they packed the patio furniture away !!!

It was a strange feeling travelling down, knowing that was it, this isnt just a 2 week break, but a life move.

The kids have adjusted much better than me, on Thursday eve we decided to eat out , then crash in the house with our sleeping bags and blow up beds, like camping but indoors, that was fun and comfortable.
Then at 10am Friday morning Geordie n Danny turned up with our “stuff” , i thought i would just get on and get the kitchen sorted , so as quick as they brought a box into the kitchen i unpacked it, i had the kitchen sorted before they left, more than you can say for Ian’s study !!!

So we are here, the children have made friends, most of the boxes are unpacked and the sun is shining and i have washing on the line.

We did have a wonderful week up in Scotland on the Black Isle before we travelled , and we are hoping to have a week in Norfolk next week , so watch this space !!!
